Family World School into the Future!

Family World School is expanding and is preparing to offer free and low cost educational services to children around the world.

Our structure is simple. We are a project-based, African centered, educational cooperative with the objective of implementing classrooms without walls in various communities around the world. Family World School is founded by Daisy Ross, B.Sc. TOEFL and Nykiiah Wright, M.Ed. Cross Categorical Special Education.

As we expand, we are looking forward to offering live online academic and extracurricular classes, provide reading resources and special needs support to learners, as well as continue our self paced material. Additional extracurricular and academic classes include Math through grade 12, foreign language, ESL, and reading supports and interventions.

Our efforts involve placing teachers in communities wherein they can serve high need student populations with our classrooms without walls. We also will use raised funds to provide free and reduced cost services to our learners through online platforms and specialized physical learning manipulatives and printed material.

In the age of COVID 19, families are making difficult decisions in how they will educate their children. Parents struggle to find resources to support their children’s academic growth and they may often find the public education option inappropriate to meet their family needs. Family World School is set to address some of the disparities in communities that strive to provide excellence for their children but have to work around economic challenges that result from the Covid 19 response or other significant obstacles.

Over the past few months, Family World School has worked to improve our self-paced curriculum. Additionally, we look forward to continuing to offer affordable live classes with talented teachers from around the world. Family World School wants to implement teacher training for non-certified teachers with degrees in other areas as well as provide training for online instruction. We can do this and more but we need help from the community.

We seek to raise $10,000 to help us expand our program. These funds will be used to place teachers in high-need communities, establish our online learning environment on trusted platforms, improve the self-paced learning experience on the Family World School website and assist our teachers when necessary to obtain professional development.
